Marina Burlotto's Locanda Dell'Orso Bevitore is owned by the Commendatore G.B. Burlotto winemaking family and is located in Verduno, in the province of Cuneo in Piedmont, Italy. The inn is an old part of the family winery that was refurbished in 2004 in order to provide lodging to the many guests of the winery. All of the rooms, mini-apartments and suites are open not only to guests of the winery, but also to the public. The Burlotto winemaking family is historically important in the Barolo wine region for their continuing devotion to producing high quality wines. The winery was started five generations ago by Marina's great Uncle, Giovan Battista Burlotto, and to this day the winery is run exclusively by family members. The framed pictures, letters, documents, maps, and memoribilia that decorate the walls of the inn recall important moments in the history of the winery. The inn property comprises not only the bed and breakfast, but also the winery, the vineyards, the family estate, and a small private chapel (today used for wine tastings). We invite all our guests to inquire about tours and tastings at the winery, which is located just up the street from the bed and breakfast.
